Community Relations
By design Paper-Plas seeks to provide support for the communities where our businesses reside. We understand the importance of contributing to the physical, mental, and emotional well being of our community. That is why each year we have either become partners or sponsors for a variety of organizations or events.
Detroit
One such relationship is the High School of Commerce and
Business Administration in Detroit, Michigan. We adopted this school
and provide Professional and financial assistance to help enhance the high
school experience for urban youths.
For the 2002-03 school year Paper-Plas has developed a corporate
partnership with the school called Commerce **** for Excellence.
The program is designed to enhance the educational value provided by the
school and help increase the academic performance among high school
students.
Milwaukee
1999 United Cerebral Palsy "Employer of the Year
1999-2000 Milwaukee Public Schools "School to Work Program"
200-2001 Sponsored Softball team for neighborhood children's sports league.
Paper-Plas College Internship Program
Senior and junior year college students in packaging programs are eligible
to participate in our college internship program for the summer. During
the summer of 2002 Jerry Gainer of the University of Indiana has obtained
hands on experience in our program. Interested students should contact our
Milwaukee Plant between October 1st - March 31st.
High School of Commerce and Business Administration
students were challenged to earn A's in English for the second quarter
card marking. The above students were awarded $100.00 each for their achievement.
